The Essential Beliefs of Christ's Bible Church

We believe the Old Testament and New Testament of the bible constitute the only inerrant, authoritative, written revelation from God to humanity (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We believe the bible declares that there is one God who exists eternally as three distinct, co-equal persons named the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Both the Old Testament and New Testament affirm this truth about the nature of God. (Deuteronomy 6:40; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 48:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14;1 Peter 1:2).

We believe that the second member (the Son) of this “Triune Godhead”, revealed Himself to humanity by becoming a man named Jesus of Nazareth almost 2000 years ago. We believe that Jesus existed eternally in the past, on earth during His incarnation and in will exist in eternity to come as, “King of Kings and Lord of Lords”! (John 1:14; John 8:58; John 14:6-9; Revelation 22:3-5, 13).
We believe Jesus of Nazareth died on a Roman cross (circa 30AD), was buried and that He was literally raised from the dead on the third day. The reason that Jesus had to do this was to “atone” for the sins of the entire world. He “substituted” Himself of that cross for each of us. (John 19:18; John 19:38-42; John 20:1-9; Romans 3:23-26)

We believe that Jesus of Nazareth after His resurrection, ascended to the Father’s right hand in heaven and that He will literally and physically return to this earth in the future. (Acts 1:9-11;Matthew 24:27-31)

We believe that this story of Jesus of Nazareth is what the bible calls the gospel message. This gospel message (called the “Good News”) is that God has provided forgiveness of sin and the way to heaven, to all who trust in the historical fact of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All who come to God with repentant hearts and faith in the Lord Jesus will be saved from the wrath to come and be given the gift of everlasting life. (Romans 10:9-13; John 3:16,36)

The Love of Christ’s Bible Church

We believe this forgiveness of sin through what Jesus Christ has done for us upon the cross, is obtained by no effort of our own. This forgiveness is obtained completely through God’s love and grace. Grace is simply defined as receiving something I don’t deserve. Because of our sin, we do not deserve to be forgiven. Our sin has separated us from God. No amount of human effort can “earn” the way back to God. So, forgiveness of sin is received by what Jesus has done for us and not by anything that we humans can do for ourselves. Our forgiveness is based solely on the love and grace of God.

Further, once we are “saved” (or forgiven) we also live by the same principal. Nothing we do after being saved can be added to what Jesus has already done for us. So, we live our lives understanding that it is ONLY by God’s grace that we have any value at all.

Based on this truth, we accept all people. We love all people. God has not condemned us for our evil deeds so in turn, we do not condemn any one else. Since there are no standards that apply to us in God’s eyes, we apply no standard to any one else but this: that all mankind should receive the free gift of forgiveness of sin by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone.
