Intercessory Prayer Ministry
The Intercessory Prayer Ministry functions to provide under the guidance of
the Holy Spirit, an environment in which our church can take part in praying
for the needs of all people. 1 Timothy 2:1-5 tells us to pray for others .
for it is good and pleases God our Savior.
The Bible gives us instances of people praying on behalf of others. For
example Exodus 15 tells us that Moses went before God and prayed on behalf
of the Hebrew people. Next, we read that Jesus prayed for Peter in Luke
22:32, He prayed for those who crucified Him in (Luke 23:24) , and He
prayed for those who would believe in Him in the future (John 17).
Finally, Acts 12:1-18 tells us that after Peter was imprisoned the saints
earnestly prayed to God for his release. While the people were still
praying, God performed a miracle and released Peter from jail.
The pastor and the congregation are prayed for during our Sunday morning
service. The ministry also schedules and coordinates the prayer services
and intercedes for people needing prayer.
We believe, and know that prayer can change people's lives, as evidence by
various Bible and everyday accounts/testimonies. Sometimes praying and
interceding for others takes patience, persistence, and determination - but
most of all it takes Faith, Hope, and Love. |
